Autumn rituals to heal your sacral chakra

I love the smells, clear blue skies and crisp air. But, most of all, I love the colours. Autumn’s energy is all about pulling us in. When I think about the feelings that autumn evokes in me, it is all to do with warmth, peace, nourishment, contentment and stillness and how the autumn colours relate to the lower chakras. Base for safety and security on this earthly journey. Sacral for passions and pleasure. Solar Plexus for self-esteem and personal identity. Autumn is full of golden hues, vibrant yellows and bold reds. The colours are fiery, and yet, they are calming.

Autumn is such an amazing time of year. At a time when so much is dying, the streets are blanketed by incredibly beautiful colours. It is a time when Nature is preparing to let go of what no longer serves it before its rebirth and new beginnings. It is the perfect time to heal your Chakras!

The Sacral Chakra: What You Give Yourself

Energetically focus on your sacral chakra. In Autumn it’s all about pulling into your core, so draw your attention to the sacral chakra. Draw Inward. Shift your focus onto you and get right with yourself. A healthy relationship with yourself allows you to view the world with increased clarity. Autumn facilitates you going deeper into the core of your being. It's in the sacral chakra that we hold our feelings around intimacy, worthiness, sensuality, creativity and desires. When your sacral is balanced and open, you feel creative, sensual, desirable and able to express your emotions. You feel comfortable in your own skin and sexuality.

Take some advice from nature and spend some time this Autumn on releasing all that no longer serves you. Some rituals you can do to heal your Sacral Chakra are:

Balance your chakras in nature

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of year and with all the lower chakra colours (red, orange, and yellow) in full bloom, it’s a perfect time to balance, clear and activated your connection to earth and the physical body. Get out in nature and spend time with the vibrancy of the earth’s final blush before her winter slumber. It’s guaranteed to give your body the energy it needs to take on the longer days of darkness.

Give

As we interact with the bright orange colours of Autumn, the sacral chakra is activated, and with it, our capacity to give and receive. Autumn is the perfect time to practice the art of giving, which gives our sacral chakra the opportunity to release some of its natural receiving energy which is activated in summer. Additionally, giving makes us feel good, which raises our vibration and puts us in a better energetic position to take on the colder months ahead.

Visualise orange

Orange is the sacral chakra’s colour. Take a deep breath and take your awareness to your sacral chakra and visualise a vibrant, healing orange glow filling up your entire lower abdomen, keeping in mind that we’re three dimensional. Send your breath and the colour orange to any area of disease or tension and then throughout your entire body and out your aura. Our sacral chakra is ruled by the moon and our feminine nature, so it’s important to be receptive and listen to your body’s messages. Release anything that you no longer serves you with the vibrant orange light eminating out of your body into your aura and out to the Universe.

Affirmations

With each affirmation below, visualise orange glowing from your sacral chakra and becoming increasingly brighter and healthier:

I am alive, connected and aware

I allow myself to play and carry playfulness into all areas of my life

The relationships in my life are healthy and nourishing

I am a beautiful creation and I spread my beauty wherever I go

I embrace pleasure and abundance

I allow myself to experience feelings

My desires are important, and I allow them to guide me

My body freely experiences pleasure

I am open to beautiful possibilities

Life feels so good and I deserve for it to feel that way

Who I am and what I do is enough

Healing Foods

Like crystals and essential oils, all food carries specific energy that can help to heal us energetically. Autumn is the time for our bodies to harvest and gather energy for the colder months ahead, which is why an abundance of fruits and vegetables become readily available for harvest. The following harvested foods nourish you and help to connect with and heal the sacral chakra.

Sources with healthy fats and oils: wild caught salmon, ocean trout, nuts, seeds

Orange fruits and vegetables: turmeric, peaches, apricots, orange peppers, oranges, tangerines, mandarins, mangos, melons, sweet potato, carrots, squash, pumpkin, nuts, spiced tea, figs, quinces

Regular chakra balancing is an important method to unblock any energy and emotions that are stuck. It enables you to release the negativity that no longer serves you – negativity that has been imprinted and built on over time so that you can move forward in your life and are open to positive new experiences. In life, it’s all too easy to become emotionally closed off or overly dependent on the people around us. Learning to trust our intuition, yet not be ruled by our emotions, is something that, like many worthwhile things, takes practice. I hope these tips for sacral chakra balancing inspire you on your journey to be your best and vibrant self.

With an abundance of love and light,

Deanne
